Singapore Family Holiday

Have you ever considered a Singapore Family Holiday?

Singapore is SO MUCH MORE than a quick stopover en-route to somewhere else. Its absolutely worthy of at least a week of your time!

I particularly love Singapore because of how clean, green and family friendly it is.

Read more about this in my post on Singapore – Clean, Green and Family Friendly.

Information and Inspiration for Your Singapore Family Holiday

What to Expect From a Singapore Family Holiday

You can expect Singapore to have yummy food …..

Food choices are wide and you will still be able to find comfort foods from home in Singapore. I didn’t have any problems feeding the kids, including one that is particularly picky. Also, no one got sick the whole time we were there and we ate out for every single meal. BONUS!

You can expect Singapore to be clean and green …..

Singapore has the cleanest streets and public amenities that I have ever experienced. A lot of public toilets (especially in well visited areas like Garden by the Bay) even have smaller toilets and lower sinks for kids. This makes a family holiday to Singapore with younger kids particularly easy! Also, there are large green areas and trees/plants everywhere, so you don’t experience that ‘depressive drabness’ that you usually get from a city.

You can expect to find free and cheap things to do with the kids in Singapore …..

Although Singapore can be expensive (I’m looking at you Sentosa Island), you can still expect to find free or cheap things to do with the kids. I’ll be writing a blog post about this soon so stay tuned!

You can expect Singapore to have a superior and easy to use public transport system ….

The public transport system in Singapore is far superior to anything I have ever experienced. It’s fast, cheap, clean and reliably on time. I recommend downloading the Moovit/ App if you don’t have it already. You basically input where you want to depart from and your destination, and it tells you which train or bus to take.

Resources for your family getaway to Singapore

Getting to Singapore

All international flights land in the wonderful Changi Airport, which is a destination in its own right! Get a great deal on flights on Trip.com.

Where to stay in Singapore

The Tai Hoe Hotel is great for those on a budget and is conveniently located next to a shopping centre and MRT station. The downside is that the rooms are really small. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to welcome kids.

Those wanting to splurge should head to the Raffles Singapore. Not much beats their legendary hospitality.

Getting around Singapore

Getting around is easy due to Singapore’s efficient and wallet-friendly public transport. Just download the MoovIt App for your phone, which tells you how to get places.

If you prefer Taxis, the Grab app is a top choice here. The app gives you the price beforehand, so there are no surprises.
