Isoletto Pool Club – The exclusive pool with skyline views for guests of The Star
Gold Coast luxury accommodation, The Star recently introduced the Isoletto Pool Club, a spectacular new family-friendly poolside venue that’s exclusive to guests staying at The Star’s resort. This includes those staying at The Star Grand, The Darling, Dorsett Gold Coast and The Star Residences.
So when the opportunity arose to stay at the Star Grand for the weekend to check it out for ourselves, we just couldn’t say no. Beach vibes, luxury accommodation, great food, walking distance to the beautiful Gold Coast beaches and a pool with skyline views … it’s bliss!
Let’s start with the Isoletto Pool Club
The Isoletto Pool Club is a brand new pool and eating area located on the level 6 leisure deck. This is different from the ‘normal’ pool and is exclusive to guests staying at The Star. Given that it’s not at ground level, guests will enjoy skyline views from the pool and eating area.
I was a little worried at first as it sounded like the kind of venue where kids might not be welcome. However, I quickly realised this wasn’t the case as most of the guests using the pool had children and there are children’s meals on the menu.
It’s very much a casual poolside dining experience where you can enjoy sweeping views of the iconic Gold Coast skyline, a dip in the pool, multiple lounge options, great food and even island-inspired cocktails. Craft and premium beers, as well as plenty of non-alcoholic options, are available as well.
Dishes range from freshly rolled sushi to locally sourced oysters with mignonette dressing through to burgers and acai bowls. The kids’ menu is simple just how kids like it.
The space itself is decorated beautifully with pops of melon that contrast with the blue sky and pool water. There are plenty of poolside seating options with soft cushions and even in-pool wet seating.
You could easily spend the better part of a day at Isoletto Pool Club.
Our room at The Star Grand
We stayed in an Executive Deluxe Twin Room at The Star Grand. The luxury comes with the expected price tag and has some lovely features such as auto-opening blinds and curtains, large flat-screen TV, soft light sensors that detect when you’ve gotten out of bed for a night-time toilet trip and a luxe ensuite.
Views from our room were of the Gold Coast’s amazing canal system with the multi-million dollar houses that edge the water. It had rained all of the previous week so the canal system was brown however, it still had a nice view, despite the drizzly weather.
Facilities and restaurants at The Star
The Star is home to the well known Star Casino, Isoletto Pool Club, Azure Spa & Fitness, bars, regular entertainment and some of the best restaurants on the Gold Coast.
Eating and drinking options include Uncle Su, Harvest Buffet, Nineteen at The Star, Kiyomi, Cucina Vivo, Garden Kitchen & Bar, M&G Cafe & Bar, Iseletto Pool Club, Mei Wei Dumplings and Food Quarter. Don’t miss the hawker-style meals at Mei Wei Dumplings or buffet breakfast at Harvest Buffet.
The location is fantastic
When you finally pry yourself away from the Isoletto Pool Club area, you will be pleased to find that Kurrawa Beach is only 800 metres away, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre is a 400m stroll across the road and Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant is only 300m away.
For those hitting up the famous Gold Coast theme parks, Wet’n’ Wild Water World and Warner Bros Movie World are only around 23km away.
