When you’re planning a Disneyland trip, one of the biggest decisions is where to stay and how much you really want to spend on accommodation versus experiences. We stayed at the Best Western Plus Pavilions in Anaheim as a more budget-friendly option within walking distance of Disneyland Resort… and it ended up being a really solid choice for our family.
It’s not a luxury stay, but it’s comfortable, practical, and in a location that makes Disneyland days a whole lot easier.
Is Best Western Plus Pavilions Anaheim good for families? Yes – it’s a budget-friendly hotel within walking distance of Disneyland, with free breakfast and practical family rooms.
Location
Proximity to attractions
The hotel is about a 15-minute walk to Disneyland Park, which we found completely manageable, even with kids. After a day at Disney, there was a bit of complaining about tired legs for the walk home, but it was still very achievable. As a result, you’re also around the same distance from Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure Park.
It’s not directly across the road like some hotels, but you’re still well within that “easy walking distance” category. From the hotel, it’s also around a 20-minute walk to Anaheim Garden Walk and an 11-minute walk to the Anaheim Convention Centre.
Transportation
- Paid parking available onsite
- Disneyland shuttle available (for a fee)
- Easy access to nearby attractions and shopping
We mostly walked, but having the shuttle as a backup is handy after a long day at Disney.
Accommodation features
Room types and sizes
The rooms are simple but well set up for families. We had a Queen room with two Queen beds and there was plenty of room to store our luggage so that it wasn’t in the way when walking around the room. Although it wasn’t “fancy”, I like the practical bathroom as there is heaps of room for your family’s toiletries on the bathroom counter, and the vanity is separate to the toilet and shower. This is a huge practical win when there are four of you sharing the same room.
It’s a motel-style setup where you can park near your room, which we personally like when travelling with kids because one of them nearly always leaves something in the car.
Amenities
- Microwave and mini fridge
- Coffee/tea facilities
- Free Wi-Fi
- Air conditioning
Again, it’s not 5-star fancy, but it’s clean and practical and everything you actually need is there.
Safety features
- 24-hour front desk
- Key-card access
- Well-lit property
- Clean and well-maintained

On-site activities and entertainment
Facilities
- Outdoor heated pool
- Spa pool
- Fitness centre
- Laundry room
It’s a simple setup, but perfect for a quick swim or relaxing after a big Disneyland day.
Children’s activities
There are no organised kids’ activities, but realistically, Disneyland is the main event here.

Dining options
Family-Friendly Dining
There is no on-site restaurant here, but there is a Denny’s right next door, and you get a complimentary breakfast for two when you stay here. If you’re not familiar with Denny’s, it’s very family-friendly, and you can expect a proper sit-down breakfast that’s easy with kids.
There are also some single-serve breakfast cereals available to buy at reception if you would like to have an easy breakfast in your room.
Nearby restaurants
- Denny’s (right next door – incredibly convenient)
- Plenty of dining options at Downtown Disney
- Other casual eateries within walking distance
Having Denny’s next door ended up being far more useful than we expected.

Staff and service
The staff go above and beyond here. We were travelling for my daughter’s birthday, and the staff went out of their way to decorate the room with streamers and balloons and even left a little tray of cupcakes for her.
It was such a thoughtful gesture and one of those little travel moments that make a trip feel special. Overall, the service was friendly, helpful, and very family-oriented.
Value for money
Pricing
This is where the Best Western Plus Pavilions really stands out. It’s priced as a mid-range hotel, but given how close it is to Disneyland, how comfortable and clean the facilities are, and the fact that you get a breakfast voucher for Denny’s next door, it represents very good value for money.
Anaheim hotels close to Disneyland can get expensive quickly and this property offers a much more affordable alternative while still being within walking distance.
What you get
- Great location near Disneyland
- Free breakfast (via Denny’s)
- Family-friendly room setup
- Pool and basic facilities
For the price point, it offers excellent value.

Overall experience
What we loved
- Affordable/mid-range option near Disneyland
- Easy walking distance to the parks
- Denny’s next door (huge bonus) plus complimentary breakfast
- Family-friendly and practical
- Thoughtful staff touches
What could be better
- Not a luxury or resort-style hotel
- Slightly longer walk than the premium Disney-area hotels
- Limited on-site entertainment
Who it’s best for
