There is a lot to choose from when it comes to Burleigh Heads accommodation but we can’t go past Swell Resort for great family value. Swell Resorts offers a variety of modern apartments which are all fully self-contained, making it easier to have both a safe, socially distant holiday and save money by cooking your own meals.
Wedged between Surfers Paradise to the north and Coolangatta to the South, Burleigh Heads is the best of both worlds with Swell resort just a short stroll to the beach and 300 metres to Burleigh Head National Park and Headland.

Accommodation
We stayed in a two-bedroom modern apartment which turned out to be a perfect size for families. In fact, it was roomy enough to live in!
The master bedroom had a King-sized bed and the kid’s room had two singles. There are 1-bedroom and three-bedroom options also available.
The bathroom was really roomy with a shower-bath combo and there was also a second bathroom containing just a toilet and sink at the entry of the apartments.
The kitchen was modern with everything we needed to self cater and the living area was separate with a large TV.
The apartment featured air-conditioning, free WiFi, washing machine, dryer and a large balcony with outdoor seating.

The Location
Swell Resort is located on Ocean Street only a short stroll from the beach and 300 metres from the Burleigh Heads National Park and Headland. The Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre is only 950 metres walk away (I’ll be writing about this soon … stay tuned!) and the wonderful Tallebudgera Creek is only just past Jellurgal.
There are tonnes of restaurant options within walking distance as well as a grocery store if you wish to take advantage of the kitchen and self-cater. Both John Laws Park and Mowbray Park on the foreshore are within close walking distance and have a great family vibe even after the sun goes down.
Swell Resort is around 12km from the Gold Coast Airport and 98km from the Brisbane Airport.

- Secure underground parking
I personally found the underground parking a little tight with my large 4WD but it was still manageable!
Food and Drink
There are many varied restaurants within walking distance as well as a grocery store (Woolworths) if you prefer to take advantage of the apartment’s kitchen to self-cater.

Within walking distance is the beautiful Burleigh Heads surf beach, Burleigh Heads National Park and Headland, Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Tallebudgera Creek.

We loved staying at Swell Resort and would recommend it to any family looking for accommodation in Burleigh Heads. The spacious room, location and ability to self-cater is a big selling point as is Burleigh Heads itself.
