If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, affordable, and genuinely welcoming to base your family in Chiang Rai, Na Na Doo Homestay is one of those places that makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
We stayed here for three nights, and it turned out to be the perfect blend of local charm and modern comfort – a quiet oasis with homes-style vibes after a day exploring Chiang Rai.
Location
Tucked away on the outskirts of Chiang Rai city, Na Na Doo Homestay offers a peaceful setting just a short drive from the city centre. It’s around six kilometres from Chiang Rai International Airport and four kilometres Wat Pra Sing, with easy access to key attractions like the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) about 20 km away. The night market in town is about six kilometres away.
We loved that it was close enough to town for dinner or a market stroll but far enough away to feel like a proper countryside escape. The lush gardens and surrounding greenery add to that sense of calm you rarely find in the city.
Accommodation features
Our Deluxe Family Room at Na Na Doo Homestay was spacious and thoughtfully designed for families, featuring a double bed and a bunk bed – a win for the kids. The room came with air-conditioning, a private bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the gardens, which was perfect for enjoying the evening breeze.
The beds were comfortable, the room clean, and the décor homestyle and warm. There are multiple different room types here but it strikes a good balance with its vibe, feeling homely without losing that authentic Thai guesthouse feel.

Amenities facilities
Considering the cost to stay, Na Na Doo Homestay punches well above its weight when it comes to facilities. The big winner for families here is the gardens, which feature a pool, a playground, a jumping castle and a bunch of cute rabbits hopping all over the place.
There is plenty of seating around the yard and your host can book tours and/or suggest places to visit if you’re embarking on a DIY adventure.
Here’s a sneak peek below:
Dining
There’s an on-site restaurant serving Thai dishes with vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options. Although it’s not advertised, we were also able to get some Western style food for the kids when they wanted something familiar. Breakfast is served buffet style, where you grab what you want from what’s on offer, and your host will also cook something to your liking. The self-serve waffle maker was a huge hit with the kids.
We nearly always ate on seating near the pool in the garden, which had plenty of shade. This meant the kids were free to wander off and play close by on the playground or pet the rabbits while we finished our meal. This is a huge win for parents.

Family-friendliness
From the moment we checked in, the staff went out of their way to make our family feel welcome. The combination of bunk beds, the pool, and spacious garden with a playground and rabbits in a peaceful setting makes this homestay ideal for families wanting a slower, more authentic Chiang Rai experience.
It’s a great alternative to busy hotels – with the added bonus of Thai hospitality that feels genuinely personal.
Our verdict
If you’re not chasing a five-star vibe and are simply after a quiet, family-friendly stay in Chiang Rai with the comforts of home, Na Na Doo Homestay is a winner. It’s not flashy, but it’s full of heart – and with a Booking.com rating of 9, it seems we’re not the only ones who think so.
Perfect for families who value space, friendliness, and a touch of local charm over chain-hotel polish.
