Royal Caribbean Brisbane cruises are now underway as Royal Caribbean has officially welcomed Voyager of the Seas to Queensland’s capital. This marks the ship’s first-ever season homeporting from the Queensland capital and opens up a new wave of family-friendly cruise options for Australians in 2025–26.
The arrival of Voyager of the Seas means more short escapes, more island time and more flexible cruise lengths for families wanting to holiday closer to home. Sailing from Brisbane, the ship will deliver 20 itineraries ranging from quick 3-night getaways to longer 12-night adventures. These itineraries will cover Queensland’s coastline and the South Pacific.
More short cruises for busy families
One of the biggest wins for families is the increase in shorter cruises. Voyager of the Seas will offer multiple 3- to 7-night sailings, including weekend departures. These make cruising far more achievable during school terms or busy sporting seasons.
Queensland-focused itineraries will visit popular destinations such as Airlie Beach and Cairns. This gives families a relaxed way to experience tropical North Queensland without long road trips or flights.
South Pacific island hopping
For families craving island time, Voyager will also run 7- to 9-night South Pacific cruises. These stop at destinations including Nouméa (New Caledonia) and Port Vila, Mystery Island and Luganville in Vanuatu. Such longer itineraries offer a balance of onboard entertainment and easy shore days. This suits travelling with kids of different ages.
There are also special festive sailings planned, including Christmas and New Year cruises. These are ideal for families wanting a stress-free holiday season with entertainment, dining and celebrations all handled on board.

Onboard fun for all ages
Voyager of the Seas is designed with families firmly in mind. Kids can burn off energy at Splashaway Bay, while older children and teens can try the FlowRider surf simulator. They can also enjoy glow-in-the-dark laser tag, ice skating at sea, or the ship’s multi-storey Perfect Storm waterslides.
Parents aren’t forgotten either. There are adult-friendly spaces like The Lime & Coconut, the Vitality Spa, and a wide range of dining options. This includes everything from casual family meals to specialty restaurants.
Wiggly-themed cruises return
This season will also see the return of Wiggly-themed cruises. These are exclusive to Royal Caribbean in Australia and are available across Voyager of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas. These special sailings include character appearances, live performances and themed activities. Such offerings particularly appeal to families with younger kids.
More Royal Caribbean ships in Australia
Voyager’s arrival in Brisbane complements Royal Caribbean’s growing Australian presence. Anthem of the Seas is already sailing from Sydney, offering additional itineraries across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific throughout the season.
For Australian families, this expanded deployment means more choice, more departure ports and more cruise styles. It ranges from short sampler cruises to longer school-holiday adventures.
