Park Regis Townsville – The Best Self Contained Accommodation in Townsville
We stayed at the Park Regis Townsville for three wonderful nights and came to the conclusion pretty quickly it’s the best self-contained accommodation in Townsville. All up we spent 10 days in the region exploring both Townville and Magnetic Island.
The Hotel – Park Regis Anchorage in Townsville
The Park Regis Townsville is part of the StayWell Holdings group, one of the largest hotel management groups in Asia-Pacific. It’s tucked into the quiet end of Palmer street directly opposite the Maritime Museum and Ross Creek. This location provides easy access to restaurants and the ferry to Magnetic Island. As a bonus, it’s also a short drive to Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
The Rooms at The Park Regis Townsville
The Rooms at Park Regis Townsville are why we think it’s the best self contained accommodation in Townsville. The one and two-bedroom apartments are surprisingly spacious and have everything you need.
We stayed in a two-bedroom family suite so the kids had their own room and a separate bathroom. There was air conditioning in both bedrooms as well as the living area. A TV, dining table and two sofas were also in this space. The kitchen in the Park Regis Townsville apartment was well stocked with cooking facilities. This included tableware so all we had to do was pick up a few grocery items at the shop.
Bonuses included a private balcony, complimentary Wi-Fi and a washing machine.
The Facilities at The Park Regis Townsville
The kids loved the two outdoor pool areas and I loved the secure onsite parking so I didn’t have to worry about our car. I also noticed some outdoor BBQs however we didn’t use them.
While there is no onsite fitness facilities, spa or restaurant, there are options nearby and the staff can point you in the right direction. Business services such as photocopying are also offered here.
Conclusion
We were super surprised at how professional the staff were and how spacious and clean the apartments were. For a family of four, we had plenty of space and it had all the comforts of home. The Park Regis in Townsville is hands down, the best self contained accommodation in Townsville for a comfortable home away from home.

Magnetic Island is located around 10km off the coast of Townsville in North Queensland. It’s as easy as jumping on one of the ferries below.
Magnetic Island Ferry
Magnetic Island is reached by ferry from Townsville. There are currently two main ferry services, a 25-minute passenger only ferry and a 45-minute vehicle and passenger ferry. I’ll be writing more on this soon, stay tuned!
