Introduction to Your Family Holiday to The Whitsundays

The Whitsundays is situated in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, surrounded by 74 tropical islands in the Coral Sea’s calm waters midway along Australia’s Queensland coast.

The coastal town of Airlie Beach is the most common jumping-off point to the islands and is also incredibly beautiful. Although staying on in island resort is popular, many families choose to stay at Airlie Beach and visit The Whitsunday islands via day trips.

There is plenty to do for families around Airlie Beach including the Airlie Beach lagoon, walks, beach fun, tropical rainforest and waterfall, the Aquaduck and more.

Although The Whitsundays is said to be in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, it’s heart can actually be found in the Whitsundays!
