MIMARU Opens New Osaka Apartments with Room for Six

Finding somewhere to stay with more than one child can take a bit of searching in Japan. MIMARUโ€™s newest Osaka property gives larger families another option, with apartments for up to six and a washer-dryer in every room.

MIMARU Osaka Namba Station Annex opened on 1 October 2026, adding 68 apartment-style guestrooms to Osakaโ€™s Namba neighbourhood.

Half of the apartments accommodate up to six guests, while the other half cater for four. Every apartment includes a kitchen, dining area and in-room washer-dryer, making it easier for families to juggle meals, laundry and a suitcase that never seems quite big enough.

Space to stay together

The apartments range from 39 to 100 square metres, with layouts designed to give families room to do different things throughout the day.

For parents travelling with more than two children, or bringing the grandparents along, the larger apartments offer an alternative to booking separate hotel rooms. Having somewhere to sit, eat and sort out the washing can also make a difference when Osaka is one stop on a longer Japan holiday.

In addition, having a washing machine and dryer in your apartment makes it much easier to travel with carry-on only so that you can take advantage of those bargain flights! Learn how we pack carry on only here (yes, it can be done).

Mao Mochizuki, International PR at Cosmos Hotel Management, which operates MIMARU, said the design considered how larger families actually use their accommodation.

โ€œThe larger the group, the more practical challenges emerge – from luggage and laundry to getting ready and sharing space,โ€ Mochizuki said.

A three-bedroom suite with its own terrace

The propertyโ€™s largest option is the top-floor Sky Garden Three-Bedroom Suite.

The 100-square-metre apartment has six single beds across three bedrooms, along with three washbasins, two toilets, a bathroom and a separate shower room. That should help ease the morning queue when everyone is getting ready to head out.

Thereโ€™s also a private outdoor terrace, giving families another place to gather or take a breather after a day exploring Osaka.

Where is the new MIMARU property?

MIMARU Osaka Namba Station Annex is a five-minute walk from Nankai Namba Station and six minutes from Nipponbashi Station. According to the hotel, the journey from Kansai International Airport takes approximately 50 minutes by train.

For families comparing room options, children aged seven and older count towards the stated four- or six-person guest capacity. Check the occupancy and bedding conditions for your chosen apartment when booking, particularly if youโ€™re travelling with younger children.
